Guide on Changing Your Appearance in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Dragon Age: The Veilguard introduces an engaging narrative complemented by a fully customizable protagonist. Players can invest considerable time in the character creator, tailoring their hero to their preferences. For those who might opt for a quick setup with a default character model, rest assured: customization options remain available later in the game.

This feature allows fans to modify their character’s appearance as they journey through the immersive and extended storyline. Below is a comprehensive guide on how to change your character’s appearance in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

When starting a new save file, players won’t have to wait long to access additional appearance customization. Following the introductory sequence, which includes an encounter with Solas, players will find themselves in the Fade—an ethereal realm where dreams manifest. This occurs approximately an hour into gameplay.

After the events of this sequence, the protagonist awakens in a location known as the Lighthouse, particularly after Varric, a key companion, sustains an injury. In the corner of the room, players will discover the Mirror of Transformation. By interacting with this mirror, they can access the character creation interface to adjust their avatar’s appearance once more.

However, it’s essential to note that only visual aspects can be modified at this point. Unchangeable features include Lineage, Class, Faction, Backstory, and Identity (including Gender and Pronouns), which are established during the initial character creation.

  • Head
  • Body
  • Eyes & Eyebrows
  • Nose
  • Mouth
  • Ears
  • Hair
  • Makeup
  • Tattoos, Scars & Paint
  • Name, Voice & Pitch

Players have the flexibility to use the Mirror of Transformation as frequently as desired, without any penalties, providing an excellent opportunity to refine their hero’s look while combating the forces of evil in the game.
