Grand Theft Auto Online enthusiasts are in an uproar after discovering that the highly anticipated Karin S95 is being sold at an exorbitant price of almost 2 million GTA$, despite being promoted as a free vehicle for players of the new Enhanced version of Grand Theft Auto 5 on PC. After its successful debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2022, the Enhanced edition has finally reached PC players as of March 4. However, the transition has been marred by several complications.
Originally launched over ten years ago, Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 5 remains a beloved title, with its Enhanced edition being the latest iteration in a series of re-releases. After debuting on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the game expanded across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and now PC. Notably, PC users have the option between Legacy and Enhanced versions. The upgrade, available to existing GTA 5 owners, features significant visual enhancements, including ray tracing capabilities such as ambient occlusion, global illumination, and advanced shadow and reflection effects.
Charges for the Free Karin S95 in GTA Online
Many PC players, excited to experience the same capabilities as their console counterparts, were dismayed to find themselves billed 2, 000, 000 GTA$ for the S95, which was supposed to be complimentary. Despite the vehicle being advertised as free, Reddit user RogueTaco revealed in a viral video that they were charged this significant amount upon attempting to acquire the car.

This issue is not isolated, as numerous players have reported encountering the same glitch. User Austinqueezy stated, “it just happened to me, ” while another player, Enkrasia22, lamented, “it took $1, 995, 000 from my account, although it was tagged as free.” User feedback reflects growing frustration over this predicament. Fortunately, there is reassuring news, as Rockstar Games appears to be addressing the issue by issuing refunds. Another Redditor, Everything_must_go2, shared a confirmation email from Rockstar Support detailing a refund for the 2, 000, 000 GTA$ charge.

In addition to this unexpected billing issue, players are experiencing another frustration: the absence of text chat in the game. Unlike the Legacy edition, the Enhanced version has seemingly removed this feature, hindering communication in public lobbies for players who do not use microphones. The reason behind this change remains unclear, whether it was an intentional decision or a glitch. Regardless, the outcome has sparked significant backlash, with numerous players leaving negative reviews over the feature’s loss.
