GTA 6 Release Updates
Release Confirmation Amidst Speculation
The announcement of GTA 6 was made nearly three years ago, on February 4, 2022. Since that moment, fans have been eagerly awaiting more news, with only one teaser trailer made available, alongside a higher-quality version from Rockstar Games. As the release window approaches, fans have expressed concerns that Take-Two and Rockstar might not meet their timeline.
However, the latest earnings report has alleviated fears of a potential delay, reaffirming that the game is set to launch in the fall. The earnings documents prominently declare: “Grand Theft Auto VI planned for release in fall of Calendar 2025.”Furthermore, Take-Two projects a net growth of 5% over the next fiscal year, largely attributed to the excitement surrounding GTA 6 and supported by upcoming releases such as Borderlands 4 and Civilization VII on February 11.
Is a Delay Still Possible?
Considering Development Cycles

Although Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games express confidence in meeting the fall 2025 release date, the possibility of delays remains. Often, delays occur as the development process nears completion when unforeseen issues and necessary updates arise. As Zelnick pointed out, “there’s always a risk of slippage, ”indicating that while the company is optimistic, there remains a chance for setbacks.
The hesitation to prescribe a firm release date may also reflect their cautious approach. Nevertheless, current indications suggest that Grand Theft Auto 6 is progressing well within its timeline, making a 2025 launch highly plausible for fans eagerly awaiting this title.
