Obsidian Entertainment Releases Grounded 2 Patch 0.1.3 Enhancing Performance and Fixing Issues
Obsidian Entertainment has introduced a fresh update for its latest early access title, Grounded 2. The newly released Patch 0.1.3
primarily focuses on resolving a range of issues rather than offering new content. This update targets performance refinements, mount behaviors, crashes, and more. A notable addition is a new warning regarding potential stability problems stemming from excessive save files.
Stability Improvements and Performance Gains
A significant highlight of this update is the promise of enhanced game stability. Obsidian claims that Grounded 2 should now perform approximately 30% better across various systems compared to the previous version, 0.1.2.1
. The development team reassures players, stating, “As we are in Early Access, we will continue to improve performance and stability throughout development.”
Managing Save Files for Optimal Performance
The connection between the number of save files and performance issues has led to the introduction of a new save limit. Players will now receive notifications if they exceed 10 saves per world.“We recommend deleting unneeded saves to increase your performance, ”Obsidian advises, emphasizing the importance of resource management for a smoother gaming experience.
Quick Fixes for Gameplay Issues
Players have faced challenges with unresponsive mounts and creatures that become unreachable. To address this, the studio has implemented a temporary ‘quick fix’.The addition of the Creature Reset and Reset Buggy buttons allows players to return critters to their original locations or nests. Obsidian has indicated that a more comprehensive solution is in development.

Additional Update Features
This update offers various other quality-of-life improvements, including:
- Resources respawning inside player-built structures
- Disappearing equipped mutations
- Snail shells properly vanishing after a day
- And much more!
Grounded 2 early access patch 0.1.3
is now live for players on PC, Xbox, and Game Pass, marking yet another step in the game’s development journey.
