Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Welcomes Grand Theft Auto V
In a recent announcement, Microsoft shared exciting updates regarding its Xbox Game Pass offerings for the early weeks of April. The gaming service, already featuring popular titles like South of Midnight, Still Wakes the Deep, and Hunt Showdown, has now revealed a highly anticipated addition: Grand Theft Auto V from Rockstar Games.
GTA V Returns with Enhanced Features
According to community reports, this iconic action-adventure game is set to return to Xbox Game Pass, making it accessible to players once again. Notably, this new inclusion marks a significant milestone, as it will be available to PC Game Pass subscribers for the first time. While GTA V has previously been part of the Game Pass library, this edition brings something fresh to the table.
Exciting Upgrades on PC
Just last month, the Expanded and Enhanced version of GTA V made its debut on PC, following three years after its console release. This update includes advanced features such as ray tracing support, upscaling technologies like FSR and DLSS, alongside new vehicles and a dynamic environment with ambient animals. Both the Enhanced version and the original release, which retains its classic system requirements, will be part of the Game Pass lineup.

Multiplayer Accessibility for All Players
In terms of online play, Microsoft emphasized the importance of version compatibility for an optimal experience in GTA Online.“When playing GTA Online, you’ll need to make sure you and your friends are all playing in the same edition so you can squad up, ” the company clarified in a blog post. This means that both Game Pass Ultimate and Standard subscribers can access all console and PC editions, enabling downloads to match their friends’ platforms. Notably, PC players can play both editions, regardless of whether their friends are on Steam or Epic Games.
Access and Availability Details
While the specifics regarding how GTA V will be integrated into the PC Game Pass remain murky, it is expected that the Xbox App will link to the Rockstar Launcher to facilitate access to the game, referencing past collaborations with major third-party publishers like EA and Ubisoft.
Mark your calendars: both the Enhanced and original editions of Grand Theft Auto V will officially become part of Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on April 15.
