How Whisk Works
Whisk enables users to upload multiple images which can serve various purposes, including defining the subject, style, and overall scene of the desired output. In the background, the tool utilizes Google’s Gemini to generate a text description, which is then processed by the advanced image generation model, Imagen 3.

Launched earlier this year, Imagen 3 is touted by Google as the company’s most refined image model to date. According to Google, it produces images with superior detail, enhanced lighting, and minimizes distracting artifacts, making it a significant improvement over previous iterations.

In a recently published blog post, Google elaborated on how Whisk captures the “essence”of the input images without necessarily providing an exact reproduction. This means that the resulting image may differ in several respects, such as skin tone, height, or hairstyle.
Customizing Your Generated Image
To address potential discrepancies in the generated images, Whisk includes an option for users to adjust the underlying text prompts. Google acknowledges that certain features may be vital to specific projects, so they have ensured users have the flexibility to edit these prompts at any stage of the creative process.
More Than Just an Image Editor
While Whisk incorporates features reminiscent of traditional image editing tools, Google emphasizes that it is fundamentally a “creative tool.”It aims to facilitate experimental exploration and dynamic creativity rather than simply function as a conventional editor. Additionally, users have the option to download their generated images for personal or professional use.
