Google Expands Accessibility of AI Video Creation Tool, Google Vids
Earlier this year, Google unveiled its innovative AI-powered video-making tool, Google Vids. Initially launched exclusively for Google Workspace users, the tech giant is now broadening access, specifically targeting business professionals looking to enhance their video content.
Leveraging Advanced AI Technology
Google Vids operates on the cutting-edge AI model known as Gemini. This platform streamlines the process of video creation for various applications, including marketing campaigns, educational projects, and business presentations. Users can benefit from an intuitive “Help me create”feature, which generates a coherent storyboard by analyzing initial prompts and existing Google Drive documents in sequential order.
Effortless Video Generation Process
After selecting a desired video style, Gemini AI efficiently compiles all necessary elements such as recommended scenes, stock media, text, scripts, and background music. This results in a draft video that can be tailored further to meet user specifications. Creators have the flexibility to enhance their videos with additional stock footage, animations, transitions, and various visual effects.
Customizable Features and Templates
Google Vids also offers a variety of templates serving as a foundation for video projects. Users have the option to include voiceovers, choosing from a selection of preset voices or recording their own via a teleprompter function. The teleprompter feature is notably enhanced by Gemini’s read-along functionality and is currently available in English.
User-Friendly Interface and Collaboration
Similar to other tools in Google Workspace, such as Docs, Sheets, and Slides, Vids boasts a user-friendly interface. It facilitates real-time collaboration, allowing teams to share projects securely through their web browsers.
Availability and Future Access
Starting November 7, 2023, Google Vids will automatically become available for specific editions of Google Workspace, including Business Standard, Plus, Enterprise tiers, and Education Plus, as well as customers using the Gemini add-on. This rollout will continue, reaching a wider user base within the coming weeks.
Access to AI-Powered Features Until 2025
According to a recent official statement, Google plans to offer full access to the AI features of Vids for free until December 31, 2025. After this date, users will encounter usage limitations beginning in 2026, with prior notifications to be issued to ensure preparedness for the changes.
