New Google Meet Feature: View Invited Participants
In a recent blog post, Google has unveiled a valuable new feature for Google Meet hardware users. Participants who were invited to a call but have not yet joined will now be visible in the People panel of the device. This includes information on their RSVP status, categorized under an “Also Invited”section.
This feature makes it easier for you to start meetings more efficiently by quickly determining who has not joined or who has declined.
This functionality has already been available in standard Google Meet for over two years, although its availability was restricted based on account types. As users explore the capabilities of Google Meet hardware, they can leverage this update to enhance their meeting management experience.
Understanding Google Meet Hardware
For those unfamiliar, Google Meet hardware comprises specialized devices engineered to elevate the video conferencing experience. Developed in collaboration with manufacturers such as ASUS, these devices are optimized for Google Workspace applications, providing superior audio and video quality to suit various meeting room sizes.

Feature Availability
This new feature will automatically be available for Google Meet calls that are linked to Calendar events on eligible Google Meet hardware devices. It caters to a range of Google Workspace editions, ensuring that users can make the most of this enhancement.
Specifically, users with access to Google Workspace editions such as Enterprise Standard and Plus, Business Starter, Standard, Plus, along with Education Fundamentals, Standard, Plus, and the Teaching & Learning add-on, will benefit from this capability. Additionally, nonprofit organizations utilizing Google Workspace will also gain access.
The rollout of this feature will adopt a phased approach:
- Rapid Release domains: The feature began rolling out on March 10, 2025, and may take up to 15 days to be fully visible.
- Scheduled Release domains: Availability will commence on March 17, 2025, with complete access potentially taking longer than 15 days.
This update marks the first enhancement for Google Meet hardware in 2025. Last year, significant improvements were made, including the introduction of a Dark Canvas theme for home screens and bi-directional interoperability between Zoom and Google Meet.
On the standard Google Meet side, recent upgrades to AI-generated backgrounds utilizing an enhanced image generation model have further enriched the user experience.
