Google Slides Unveils New Templates for Enhanced Presentations
Approximately a month ago, we shared news about Google’s ongoing enhancements to Google Slides, which included features that simplify the selection of overlapping objects and improve the proportional resizing of multiple items using corner handles. Recently, Google announced the introduction of a new array of templates for Google Slides, marking a follow-up to the collection released the previous year.
Modern Templates Address Diverse Presentation Needs
The newly introduced templates are touted as “modern”and “professionally designed, ”tailored to facilitate the creation of presentations with greater ease. These templates cater to various needs, including:
- Business proposals
- Product pitches
- Marketing plans
- Quarterly reviews
- Team introductions
- Milestone celebrations

Streamlining the Presentation Process
The rationale behind expanding the template library is straightforward. As articulated by Google:
Slides templates enable users to jumpstart their presentation creation, maintain a consistent look and feel, and focus on what matters most—your content. More specifically, they help users overcome the blank canvas and spend less time on design, enabling them to dive straight into crafting a compelling narrative that is visually cohesive and professional.
How to Access New Templates
Users can explore these templates via the new sidebar or by selecting “Insert”followed by “Templates.”This feature allows for browsing through the template collection, enabling users to select one that aligns with their specific style and objectives. You have the option to insert all slides or choose only those that meet your needs before you start incorporating your own text and images.
Availability and Rollout Details
Google has confirmed that these updated templates are accessible to all Google Workspace users, regardless of whether they possess a business account, a Workspace Individual subscription, or a personal Google account. However, it is important to note that users must set their language preference to “English (United States)”at this time.
The rollout commenced on April 22, 2025, for Rapid Release domains, with a planned expansion over the subsequent 15 days. Scheduled Release domains can expect to see the templates starting May 6, 2025, also progressing over a similar timeframe.
