A few years back, Google introduced its Duplex AI technology, showcasing its ability to make phone calls on behalf of users using a remarkably natural-sounding voice. This innovative feature, integrated within Google Assistant, expanded its reach to Pixel smartphones, Apple iPhones, and other Android devices. Now, Google has taken a significant leap forward by integrating a similar capability into Google Search.

In a recent announcement, the tech giant revealed the launch of an agentic AI feature in Google Search that allows users to obtain pricing and availability from local businesses without making a single phone call. This feature streamlines the process of gathering information, enhancing user convenience dramatically.
Utilizing the New “Have AI Check Pricing”Option
When users search for specific services—such as pet grooming or dry cleaning—they will encounter a new option labeled “Have AI check pricing.”Upon selecting this feature and entering the required details through a straightforward form, Google Search dispatches the AI to contact various businesses to gather comprehensive information on services and appointments. For example, if you search for “pet groomers near me, ”you might need to specify details like the type of pet and the services desired.
Additionally, users can opt to receive updates via SMS or email, ensuring they stay informed without much effort.
Availability and User Limitations
This innovative feature is rolling out across the United States, although users with Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscriptions will benefit from expanded limits on usage. According to a support page by Google, calls made by the AI are recorded and monitored for quality control purposes. Businesses also have the option to decline participation in these automated calls.
Additional AI-Powered Updates
Alongside this feature, Google has unveiled several enhancements for AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. One notable update is the inclusion of Gemini 2.5 Pro support within AI Mode, made accessible through the menu options. This upgraded model, announced earlier this year, is equipped with advanced capabilities in reasoning, along with enhanced problem-solving for complex queries, particularly in math and coding.
Moreover, AI Mode will be enriched with Deep Search capabilities, facilitating in-depth responses and extensive research across a variety of topics. Google claims that through Deep Search, users can save considerable time by performing extensive inquiries and synthesizing information into detailed, well-cited reports within minutes.
These advanced features will soon be available to users who have opted into the AI Mode experiment within Search Labs, particularly those subscribed to AI Pro and Ultra tiers.
