The updated Google ‘G’ icon has begun to roll out to users. It was first spotted in the Google Search app for iOS, following a recent update, and is now also available on Android with the latest beta version of the Google app (16.18).As of now, Google has yet to issue an official statement regarding the rationale behind this redesign or how broadly it plans to implement these changes across its suite of services. There is also uncertainty about whether the gradient style will extend to other product icons, such as those for Google Maps and Drive, which currently feature the traditional four-color palette.
