The intrigue surrounding the Google Pixel 9a began in August when a significant leak unveiled a redesigned prototype that deviates from the traditional visor-type camera module seen in earlier Pixel models. Instead, the new design features a camera module that is flush with the back panel, signaling a potentially fresh aesthetic for the device.
Recently, a series of images, purported to be prototypes of the Pixel 9a, have circulated on X (formerly Twitter). These leaks, attributed to well-known leaker fenibook, showcase the same distinctive flush camera design previously hinted at in earlier rumors. The new dual-camera layout appears alongside a separately positioned flash, further emphasizing a clean design approach.
Analyzing the Prototype’s Features
One noteworthy image reveals an unfamiliar logo in the center of the back panel, replacing the usual Google branding. This practice is common among companies, who often utilize alternate logos on prototypes to conceal their identity and minimize leaks. Additionally, the presence of multiple stickers, including one indicating “EVT”(Engineering Validation Test), confirms the device’s prototype status.
Though a front-facing image provides minimal information beyond the punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera, determining the size of the display bezels remains a challenge. Early leaks have suggested that the Pixel 9a may arrive in two appealing color variants: Peony and Iris.
