Recently, Google Meet on the web introduced an advanced feature named “Take notes for me,”powered by Gemini AI. This innovative tool not only transcribes meetings but also provides real-time summaries, delivering comprehensive notes that go beyond mere text-to-speech conversions of your discussions.
Currently, this feature is only accessible on the Google Meet web platform. However, indications suggest that Google is in the process of extending this Gemini AI-powered functionality to mobile devices as well. An APK Teardown report unveiled various code snippets related to “Take notes for me”or “Take notes with Gemini”within the Gmail app for Android version 2024.09.08.673958928.Release.

This feature may also integrate with Google Calendar and Google Drive, simplifying the process of saving and sharing meeting notes.
During meetings, users may receive notifications stating “Gemini is taking notes,”among other prompts. For the time being, Google Meet’s “take notes with Gemini”feature will exclusively support English, with expectations of additional language support in the future.
The web version of the Google Meet “take notes with Gemini”feature is currently available to Google Workspace customers who have subscribed to Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education Premium, or the AI Meetings & Messaging add-ons. However, Google may consider making it available to the general public alongside the mobile version.
