Google Gemini Introduces Slide Presentation Feature

In its latest update, Google has expanded the functionality of the Gemini app by integrating a new feature that enables users to create slide presentations with ease. This generative AI chatbot can now transform your text prompts into visually appealing slide decks, and this feature is currently being rolled out to users of Google Workspace.

Create Slides with Ease

Users can either input a text prompt or upload a document to generate a series of slides. These presentations come complete with thematic coherence and relevant images, making the process seamless. Once completed, the presentation can be easily exported to Google Slides for further editing or collaborative efforts among team members.

Use Cases for Professionals and Educators

According to a blog post from Google, this new slide generation capability can significantly benefit professionals looking to create campaign briefs or initial pitch decks. Moreover, the tool is also beneficial for educators and students who wish to develop lesson presentations or convert extensive notes into organized slide formats.

How to Utilize the New Feature

To access the presentation creation feature, simply click on the “Tools”option beneath the chat box and select “Canvas.”You can then prompt the chatbot to “create a presentation, ”specifying your topic or attaching a document for conversion.

Availability and Future Updates

This new feature is currently accessible on both desktop and mobile versions of Gemini. Over the coming weeks, it will be available to various Workspace tiers, including Business, Enterprise, Essentials, Education, and Nonprofit plans, as well as users subscribed to Google AI Pro, Ultra, or Education plans. Google has indicated that administrators within Workspace do not have control over this feature, hinting that it may eventually be available to free users as well.

Additional Features of Gemini

Besides the slide presentation feature, Gemini has recently enhanced its capabilities with improved LaTeX rendering and a new PDF export option. The app also now features Veo 3.1, a video generation model capable of better understanding storytelling elements, cinematic styles, and character interactions, further enriching the user experience.
