Google Unveils Free Access to Gemini 2.5 Pro AI Model
In a significant move, Google has made its latest iteration of the Gemini AI model, version 2.5 Pro, available for free across all users of the Gemini app. Previously exclusive to Gemini Advanced subscribers, this advanced experimental model will begin its rollout to the general public starting this Saturday.

Originally launched earlier this week, Gemini 2.5 Pro is touted as Google’s most sophisticated AI model yet, demonstrating enhanced reasoning and cognitive capabilities compared to its predecessors. This updated version boasts an array of functionalities, including:

Before this announcement, access to Gemini 2.5 Pro was limited to users subscribed to the Gemini Advanced plan, which costs $19.99 per month in the U. Availability and User Experience Enhancements
The Gemini 2.5 Pro model is already live on the Gemini website and is expected to be available on Android and iOS mobile applications in the coming days. Recent updates to the app have further streamlined the user experience, simplifying the process of selecting and recalling which Gemini model is currently in use.

As part of its experimental phase, Gemini 2.5 Pro introduces new features, including app/extensions integration and file upload functionalities, alongside the Canvas collaboration tool. Impressively, it currently leads the LMArena leaderboard, highlighting its prominence in the AI landscape. Google is concurrently working on enhancing the model’s coding capabilities to further broaden its utility.
Additionally, Gemini 2.5 Pro features a remarkable one million-token context window, allowing it to manage extensive datasets and preserve context during prolonged interactions.
