ExplorerPatcher Update: Enhancements and Fixes for Windows Users

ExplorerPatcher has become a favored tool among users looking to personalize and optimize their Windows experience. Its latest update addresses a variety of enhancements and issues specifically for Windows 11 versions 24H2, 22H2, as well as Windows 10 22H2. However, it is important to note that this update does not introduce any fixes tailored for the latest Windows 11 feature update, 25H2.

Key Improvements and Fixes

One of the standout improvements is the restoration of the weather integration feature, resolving the persistent “Unable to load weather information”error. This issue arose due to adjustments on Google’s end. To fully activate this functionality, users may need to clear their local widget data.

File Explorer Enhancements

In the realm of File Explorer, the title bar has reappeared for systems running Windows 11 22H2 and newer, while a bug that previously caused folder lists to jump to the top after a WM_SETTINGCHANGE action has been resolved. Furthermore, for Windows 11 24H2 users, shrinking the address bar no longer disrupts graphics, and toolbar button sizes have been corrected when the Servicing_CFDNavButtonsTheming flag is in effect.

Compatibility with Customization Apps

In terms of cross-compatibility with other customization tools, users of Start11 on Windows 11 24H2 will notice that the Recommended section is now successfully hidden again. Additionally, Start10 has been updated, restoring animation patching for x64 build 27938+ and ARM64 build 27881+.A previously existing bug that hindered the opening of the Windows 10 Start menu when Windows 11 feature flags were active has also been addressed.

Taskbar Updates

For those using Windows 11 22H2 and later, the ExplorerPatcher taskbar (referred to as ep_taskbar) is now the default setting. Below is a comprehensive list of changes included in this update:

  • Weather Fix: Resolved the “Unable to load weather information”issue due to recent changes on Google’s side.
  • Start11 Integration: The Recommended Section is now effectively hidden in recent 24H2 builds.
  • File Explorer Title Bar: Reintroduced for versions 22H2 and above.
  • Scrolling Bug Fix: Reduced instances of folder lists unexpectedly scrolling to the top after WM_SETTINGCHANGE.
