Streamlined Meeting Scheduling with Google Calendar’s New Features
Google is enhancing its scheduling capabilities to simplify the way users book meetings. The latest addition is a pre-configured booking page integrated into Google Calendar, aimed at making appointment management more intuitive and efficient. This feature builds upon the “appointment schedules”introduced last year, which serves as a more comprehensive successor to the previous “appointment slots”functionality.
According to Google, the new booking page automatically appears if no existing appointment schedule is detected. This page incorporates your specified working hours and continuously updates to prevent any potential calendar conflicts, streamlining the booking process for both parties.
Managing Multiple Appointment Schedules
For users who have already set up multiple appointment schedules, accessing all your booking pages is now easier than ever. You can view them conveniently from the Calendar sidebar, whether you are utilizing the web or mobile application. Furthermore, if you maintain separate schedules for different purposes—such as client consultations versus personal training sessions—there’s a new feature that allows you to selectively display or conceal individual schedules from your main calendar view.
To manage your display settings, navigate to the “Booking pages”section in the sidebar. Hover over a specific schedule, and use the three-dot menu to choose either “Show on calendar”or “Hide from calendar”.Even with a schedule hidden, you will still find your booked appointments visible in your calendar, and others can continue to book time using your unique link.
Booking Page Functionalities and Limitations
Both web and mobile platforms support sharing booking pages; however, creating, modifying, and deleting these pages remains limited to the web interface at this time. It’s important to remember that if you make any changes to your working hours, you will need to manually update the availability settings for your appointment schedules, as the system will not do this automatically.
Who Can Access These Features?
The introduction of appointment schedules is accessible to various user groups, including Google Workspace subscribers, Workspace Individual users, and personal Google account holders. However, it is essential to note that certain sub-features are available only to specific paid subscription tiers.
