The Conflict Between Jake Paul and Hasim Rahman Jr.
Unfortunately, the scheduled fight between Jake Paul and Hasim Rahman Jr. at Madison Square Garden in New York on August 6, 2022, was ultimately canceled.
Despite initially agreeing to fight at 200 pounds, Rahman struggled to shed the weight in time. In a social media post, he revealed that he was unable to reach a weight lower than 215 pounds.
Following Rahman’s statement, Paul revealed that Rahman had previously altered the fight weight from 200 to 205 pounds. However, Rahman’s team later reached out to him and informed him that their fighter could not meet a weight lower than 215 pounds. They even went as far as to threaten withdrawal if the fight weight was not modified to 215 pounds.
Paul then explained that his manager had cancelled the fight because he typically fights at 190 pounds and facing an opponent at 215 pounds would have presented a considerable challenge for him.
