Jenn Tran, a 26-year-old native of Miami, was recently announced as the star of the upcoming season 21 of The Bachelorette. She was first introduced to viewers during Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor. Jenn graduated from the University of Wisconsin in May 2020.
Despite only making it to week 7 on the dating reality show and being eliminated after failing to receive a rose from Joey, the physician assistant student, Jenn Tran, has been given a second opportunity to find love after previously finishing in fifth place.
The confirmation was given during the season 28 finale of The Bachelor, following Joey’s proposal to Kelsey Anderson. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jenn Tran excited fans with hints about what her season of The Bachelorette would entail. The Miami native confessed she does not have a specific plan, but she intends to stay authentic to her true self.
“I’m really just gonna be my freaking self and that means all the good, the bad, and the chaotic, and the psychotic. That’s really what you’re gonna have to look forward to.”

The actress wants her fans to know that they will see a raw and unfiltered side of her personality. During the interview, she mentioned, “You’ll see the wild side of Jenn.”While she doesn’t have a specific approach, she is eager to see what kind of men she may attract. Jenn considers a good sense of humor to be an important trait in a potential partner.
Jenn Tran, star of The Bachelorette, has a goal of being flirtatious, but clarified that she has no desire to handle chaos, as she shared with the publication.
“I hope they don’t have too much chaos. I think there’s only room for one person to be chaotic in a relationship, and that’s me. I claim that. I want someone to ground me. I’m a Sagittarius, I’m a fire sign, so I’m a little crazy. I bring that fiery energy. I want someone to have a little bit of fiery energy, but also to like ground me a little bit, put me in a place.”
Jenn emphasized the importance of authenticity and a shared sense of humor when it comes to her ideal partner. She values building a genuine friendship with her significant other, as she believes it will be the cornerstone of a lasting relationship.
Despite witnessing leading man Joey Graziadei break down frequently on camera during The Bachelor season 28, viewers can expect to see much less crying in Jenn’s season. If she does happen to shed tears, the Miami native hopes they will be tears of joy.
At the finale, Jenn Tran was introduced by Charity Lawson as the future leading figure of The Bachelorette. The alum offered well wishes to the 26-year-old as she prepares for her quest to discover true love. During the episode, Charity showered Jenn with compliments, declaring:
“I can say that our next bachelorette is someone who is intelligent. She’s witty, she’s fun, and she’s super kind. And personally, I want to see a lot more of her and I can only hope that out of this experience that she’s getting ready to embark on that she really does find true love.”
Jenn’s return has made her the first Asian American leading bachelorette lady, marking a historic moment. In an Instagram post, she expressed her excitement about setting a new milestone in Bachelor Nation history, writing:
“FIRST ASIAN BACHELORETTE?! You have no idea how much this moment means to me. Growing up I never got to see anyone who looked like me lead their own love story on TV. To be able to inspire a generation of people to be proud of their culture is something I’m so grateful for.”
The 21st season of The Bachelorette is set to debut on ABC this July.
