Golden Joystick Awards 2021 – Selected the best games and hardware of all time

Yesterday, another gala concert of the Golden Joystick Awards took place, the largest winner of which was the Resident Evil Village, which has four statuettes, including one of the most important, that is, for the game of the year. The best games by platform were also selected at the gala evening. Hitman 3 won on PC, and Psychonauts 2 won on Xbox. PS5 won the best platform of the year.

This year’s event also selected the best play and play equipment in history. In the first category, Dark Souls won, in the second – PC. The Equipment of All Time Award went to Gabe Newell, who in a short speech described personal computers as excellent gaming platforms.

The winners were selected by the players,  with the exception of one category. Voting took place on a special site.

  • Best Gaming Hardware – PS5
  • Best Independent Game – Death’s Door
  • Studio of the Year – Capcom
  • Best Performance – Maggie Robertson (Lady Dimitrescu of Resident Evil Village)
  • Breakthrough in the gaming market – Housemarque
  • Best Gaming Community – Final Fantasy 14
  • The game we’re still playing is Final Fantasy 14
  • PC Game of the Year – Hitman 3
  • Nintendo Switch Game of the Year – Metroid Dread
  • Xbox Game of the Year – Psychonauts 2
  • PlayStation Game of the Year – Resident Evil Village
  • Most Anticipated Game – Elden Ring
  • Critics’ Award – Deathloop
  • Game of the Year – Resident Evil Village
  • Hardware for All Seasons – PC
  • A Game of All Time – Dark Souls
