God of War Ragnarok doesn’t help Kratos forget his past battle experience

After its release, many players went in search of the Easter eggs hidden in the game, and many of them succeeded and discovered some truly fascinating ones.
One example is when God of War Ragnarok makes a passing reference to another PlayStation game that might surprise you and you might not even catch it because the dialogue is pretty thin. At one point in the game, Mimir teased Kratos about being in the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale , Sony’s attempt to create a Smash -like brawler .

Throughout the game, whenever Kratos and Mimir vacation together, Mimir often asks him about his experience. He asks about the “tournament” he entered, in which he fought “beasts, scoundrels, princesses, undead, automatons, and… the best musician in history.” Besides Kratos, these are all references to other playable characters in All-Stars, including PaRappa the Rapper and Big Daddy from Bioshock .
The full conversation between them is as follows:
Mimir: Brother, I have heard many stories about your homeland. But I also heard that you once participated in a tournament.
Kratos: I participated in many competitions.
Mimir: But this particular one… I heard you’ve fought beasts, scoundrels, princesses, undead, automata, and… the greatest musician in history. It’s not… it’s not true, is it?
Kratos: I wouldn’t talk about it.
Compared to Sony Santa Monica , the Ragnarok development team, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale has a much more direct connection. Some have interpreted the dialogue as a reference to Mortal Kombat 2011 , in which Kratos also appears as a playable character.
Most of the characters in the game fit that description ( Kitana is a princess, Scorpion is an undead), but the connection to “the world’s greatest musician” is dubious at best, with only Rain (inspired by Prince ) actually filling in the dialogue gap.
When PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale first came out, it was for PS3 . Some of the most recognizable PlayStation characters such as Kratos , Nathan Drake , Ratchet and Clank , Jak and Daxter and more engage in fights reminiscent of Super Smash Bros. know that these links will help keep the legacy of the game alive.
