Glow 24.14 Software Update
Glow offers comprehensive reporting on every hardware component of your computer, enabling you to save precious time that is usually spent locating stats like CPU, motherboard, RAM, graphics card, and more. With Glow, all crucial information is presented in one user-friendly interface, simplifying your ability to access and examine the detailed hardware specifications of your system.
Glow delivers extensive information on various system components, including the operating system, motherboard, processor, memory, graphics card, storage, network, battery, drivers, and services. The organized layout ensures straightforward access to the information you need. You can conveniently export all gathered data to a plain text file, making it easy to share with others for troubleshooting.
No installation is required. Simply decompress the archive, run the executable, and obtain your computer’s relevant information. Glow is compatible with Windows 11 and Windows 10 64-bit versions.
This is the final update for Glow in 2024. The subsequent version will be released after May 2025, and there will be no new updates in between. The next version after v24.14 is expected to be v25.06 or v25.07.
What’s New
- Added support for Windows 11 24H2.
- Glow’s Theme Engine has been revamped! It now incorporates an object-based algorithm, ensuring compatibility with future interfaces.
- The Cache Cleaner Tool has undergone reprogramming, featuring a more modern appearance and table structure.
- New cleaning features for ‘Windows Prefetch’, ‘Windows Update Cache’, and ‘Windows Icon Cache’ have been integrated into the Cache Cleanup Tool.
- The DNS Test Tool has been reprogrammed, presenting a modern design and structure.
- The capability to selectively copy rows has been introduced in the DNS Test Tool. You can now double-click on a row to copy the results to the clipboard.
- Updated the printing feature of the DNS Test Tool results for a cleaner output.
- The HTML Print Engine within the Export Information feature has been modernized for better responsiveness, along with some added visual improvements.
- An Instagram link has been added to the About section.
- Integrated the. NET Framework 4.8.1 October 2024 security patch.
Bug Fixes
- Resolved an issue where the L1 Processor Cache Size in the Processor section was inaccurately displayed for modern processors.
- Fixed a problem where the Disk Manufacturer information in the Storage section appeared as ‘NVMe’ on Intel VMD storage drives.
- Corrected inconsistencies in time calculation algorithms used in Glow.
- A bug was fixed where selections in the Memory Test Tool table would change color to blue and then disappear.
- Addressed various printing and export algorithm issues that resulted in extra space in the last line of outputs.
- Corrected several DPI-related bugs.
Changes
- The BIOS Update button in the Motherboard section now displays ‘BIOS Update’ instead of ‘BIOS Driver’.
- The RAM Speed property in the RAM section shows values in both MHz and MT/s, for instance: ‘4800 MHz / 4800 MT/s’.
- Modified the shutdown feature of the Screen Layout Tool; the shutdown button has been removed, and it can now be closed by pressing the ESC key.
- Corrected the typo ‘Number of Drives Installed’ in the English language to ‘Number of Drivers Installed’.
- Changed ‘Total Number of Drives Installed:’ to ‘Total Number of Drivers Installed:’.
- Removed the jQuery and Font Awesome requirement from the HTML Print Engine in the Export Information feature.
