Glance Launches AI-Powered Shopping Experience on Google-Backed Lock Screen Platform

Glance Enhances User Experience with Google Cloud Partnership

Glance, a widely used lock screen platform boasting over 300 million active users each month on Android devices, has secured new support from Google. This collaboration will see Glance harnessing the capabilities of Google Cloud to integrate advanced artificial intelligence models into its services, thereby transforming the smartphone experience for millions worldwide.

Introducing Innovative Features for Lock Screens

The upcoming version of Glance aims to substantially improve the user interface of smartphone lock screens and ambient TV displays by utilizing AI technology. Users will enjoy immediate access to personalized content, including news updates, sports scores, gaming options, and shopping opportunities, all curated specifically to their interests.

AI-Powered Shopping Experience

With a presence on over 450 million smartphones globally, Glance has launched an AI-integrated shopping feature directly on the lock screen. This enhancement allows users to upload a selfie or choose a photo from their gallery to initiate a personalized shopping journey. By employing Google’s AI and Vertex AI models, the platform assesses users’ style preferences, generating tailored images that showcase various products, thus facilitating quicker and more informed purchasing decisions without leaving the lock screen.

Leadership Insights

According to Naveen Tewari, Founder and CEO of InMobi and Glance, as mentioned in the official blog, “Our combined knowledge, AI capabilities, and expertise uniquely position Glance to deliver the next level of AI-driven experiences for smartphone users, supported by viable business models such as commerce and advertising.”

Future Plans and Expansion

Currently, Glance is trialing its “Glance AI” in the United States, aimed at enhancing both smartphone lock screens and TV ambient experiences. Plans are also in place to introduce Glance AI in India in the coming months, indicating a strategic focus on expanding its reach and improving user engagement.
