The desktop version of this GPU is set to hit retail markets next month, while board partners are already showcasing their customized versions. As a power-efficient, entry-level graphics card, the GeForce RTX 5050 allows manufacturers to create more compact cooling solutions. GIGABYTE’s latest offering, the GB207 chip, embodies this principle with its low-profile architecture.

The GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5050 OC Low Profile 8G showcases a triple-fan cooling system while maintaining a compact size, measuring just 182mm in length. This design innovation accommodates smaller chassis without complications. Remarkably, despite adding an extra fan compared to its predecessor, the RTX 3050 Low Profile, the dimensions have barely increased. The card is a dual-slot design with measurements of 182mm x 69mm x 36mm, outfitted with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory operating at an impressive 20 Gbps and utilizing a PCIe 5.0 interface.

While specific core clock frequencies are yet to be disclosed, users can anticipate a boost clock that surpasses the standard reference edition, which is capped at 2.57 GHz. Remarkably, GIGABYTE has matched the reference edition’s Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 130W, aligning with NVIDIA’s recommendation for a 550W power supply unit.

The cooling mechanism of the RTX 5050 OC Low Profile is enhanced by a specially designed heatsink featuring a server-grade thermal conductive gel that directly interfaces with the GPU chip and a copper base plate. The aluminum heatsink is interconnected with copper heat pipes to expedite heat dissipation, effectively managing cooling across the entire PCB.
