Gigabyte Launches Enhanced Z890 AORUS Tachyon ICE Motherboard with CAMM2 Support and “Ultra Turbo” Performance Boost

Gigabyte has launched the latest iteration of its Z890 AORUS Tachyon ICE CAMM2 motherboard, which comes with cutting-edge features designed to enhance performance significantly.

New Features of the Z890 AORUS Tachyon ICE with CAMM2 Support

The refreshed Z890 AORUS Tachyon ICE now incorporates support for the advanced CAMM2 DDR5 memory modules. These modules are engineered for improved signaling and higher operational frequencies. With innovative BIOS enhancements, users can achieve up to a 14% performance increase while utilizing the same memory kit.

Visually, the Gigabyte Z890 AORUS Tachyon ICE CAMM2 motherboard retains a similar design to its predecessor, featuring a 90-degree rotated CPU socket and redesigned memory module placements at the top of the board.

While the former model boasted UDIMM slots, the latest version introduces a dedicated CAMM2 connector to accommodate this next-generation memory standard. Another interesting addition is the onboard overclocking kit, which supports extreme overclocking scenarios. Notably, the CAMM2 slot is equipped with a toolless heatsink for enhanced thermal management compared to traditional UDIMMs.

Furthermore, the original Z890 AORUS Tachyon ICE motherboard has achieved a significant milestone by setting a new world record for memory overclocking at DDR5-12752. This achievement was orchestrated by Gigabyte’s acclaimed in-house overclocker, HiCookie, utilizing the advanced D5 Bionic Corsa technology and V-Color’s Manta Xfinity RGB CUDIMM memory modules.
