Gigabyte has made it easier for users to activate its X3D Turbo Mode, a feature that was previously accessible only through the BIOS. This new functionality can now be enabled via the AORUS AI Snatch software running on Windows, though users should note that a system restart is required for the changes to take effect.
Streamlined Activation of X3D Turbo Mode with Gigabyte’s AORUS AI Snatch
Gigabyte, a leading name in the motherboard industry, has updated its AORUS AI Snatch software, allowing gamers to activate the X3D Turbo Mode with just a few clicks. Users can now conveniently choose between enabling this feature from their BIOS or directly through their Windows operating system. However, it’s important to understand that any changes will necessitate a system restart.
In its recent announcement, Gigabyte described this new capability as an “intuitive method”for enhancing gaming performance. The activation process involves a few straightforward steps outlined below:
- Perform a live update on GCC to ensure you have the latest version of AORUS AI SNATCH (B24.11.19.01).
- Locate and click the flag icon in the lower-left corner of the app.
- Confirm activation of X3D Turbo Mode by selecting “OK”in the pop-up window.
- Allow the system to reboot to finalize activation.
Once the mode is activated, users can disable it by selecting the “Discard”option within the app, meaning that gamers cannot switch this feature on or off instantly during gameplay. Previously, users could only check the status of X3D Turbo Mode via the AORUS AI Snatch application.
The X3D Turbo Mode is a proprietary technology from Gigabyte designed to improve gaming performance by adjusting specific CPU parameters. It effectively prioritizes CPU core allocation for gaming applications, allowing processors to dedicate their resources to gaming while optimizing bandwidth and balancing hardware power. However, the overall performance gain is also influenced by the memory settings in use.
Testing has shown that the activation of X3D Turbo Mode results in performance improvements, with the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D recording a 3-5% boost in various gaming benchmarks. Notably, the earlier Ryzen 7 7950X3D and the more recent Ryzen 9 9950X demonstrated even more significant improvements, attributed to their Dual CCD architecture. It’s crucial to mention that in X3D Turbo Mode, one CCD is disabled, which can greatly impact gaming performance.
