Finding your way to Tenochtitlan Harbor, also referred to as Tenochzitoc Harbor, in Genshin Impact might initially seem perplexing, especially with the launch of the permanent summer event for version 5.8. The first task of this event invites players to visit Tenochzitoc Harbor but does little to guide them across the vast ocean that separates them from this new location.
In this guide, we’ll clarify the steps to reach Tenochzitoc Harbor in Genshin Impact so you can dive into the summer festivities during the Genshin 5.8 update.
Steps to Reach Tenochtitlan Harbor

To begin, access the event menu and locate the summer event overview. Accept the invitation to officially mark Tenochtitlan Harbor on your game map. Initially, zooming out may only reveal the quest marker alongside an inactive Statue of the Seven. If you navigate through the lands of the Night-Wind clan and venture into Tecoloapan Bay, you may only observe a vast expanse of water with no waverider waypoint in sight.
For the adventurous and patient players, attempting to traverse the ocean using a Cryo team to freeze the water could be an option. However, the developers have provided a simpler solution: fast traveling to the harbor. By zooming in slightly more on the map around Tenochzitoc Harbor, you will find an active teleport waypoint conveniently positioned near the quest marker.

After using the teleport, take a few steps forward to encounter Bennett, which will trigger the summer event featuring characters Mualani and Chasca. This event is particularly timely as it coincides with their rerun banners. Players can look forward to numerous mini-games, exclusive event rewards, and a collection of islands that will remain in the game world permanently, unlike previous limited-time summer events.
If you are planning to utilize the event rewards from the 5.8 banners and have obtained the new 5-star character, be sure to check out our Ineffa build guide for insights on how to effectively prepare her for your adventures.
