Genshin Impact Leak Unveils the Great Volcano of Tollan for Version 5.5
Exciting developments are on the horizon for Genshin Impact players as recent leaks indicate that Version 5.5 will transport adventurers to the magnificent Great Volcano of Tollan. This new zone will serve as the latest expansion of the Natlan region, known for its unique aspects, including the intriguing Collective of Plenty. Interestingly, Natlan has followed a distinctive release pattern compared to previous regions; by Version 5.4, players will encounter only one Artifact Domain alongside two explorable zones, a stark contrast to the Fontaine era, which boasted two Artifact Domains and four zones by Version 4.4.
While this might suggest that Natlan could be less expansive than earlier regions, it instead implies a different approach to content rollout that players have yet to witness in Genshin Impact. Version 5.2 introduced the Flower-Feather Clan and the Masters of the Night-Wind, yet one tribe remains uncharted – the Collective of Plenty. Situated in Southwestern Natlan, this community includes champions such as Varesa and Iansan, further enriching the game’s lore.
According to leak sources like Uncle Teyvat, Version 5.5 promises to enhance gameplay with a multi-layered experience at the Great Volcano of Tollan. This complex environment will feature both aerial and subterranean maps alongside the base layer, allowing for extensive exploration. The Collective of Plenty will take center stage with a primary settlement located on the northern slopes of the volcano, where players can utilize the unique Tatankasaurs for navigation. Additionally, Uncle Teyvat has hinted at the imminent arrival of Mare Jivari, potentially introducing another zone in either Version 5.6 or Version 5.7.

As a critical element of Natlan’s narrative, the Great Volcano of Tollan is set to play a pivotal role in the Traveler’s adventures alongside their Saurian companion. The integration of Golden Entreaties into the volcano’s storyline is expected to be a significant component of the forthcoming World Quest series. Furthermore, it is anticipated that the new zone will feature a separate map akin to Remuria or Enkanomiya, enhancing the depth of exploration for players. Although not officially confirmed, expectations are high for the introduction of a new Artifact Domain within this vibrant new area.
Overall, Version 5.5 is emerging as a substantial content update for Genshin Impact. With no map expansion in Versions 5.3 or 5.4, this upcoming release could indeed rejuvenate the game’s experience. Besides the new region, players can anticipate the debut of characters Iansan and Varesa, with the update projected to launch on March 26, 2025.
