Genshin Impact 5.4 – New Characters & Banners

Only One New Character, Yumemizuki Mizuki, Is Arriving In Version 5.4

None

Yumemizuki Mizuki expands the character roster in Version 5.4 as a 5-star Anemo user who wields a catalyst. Her unique abilities allow her to deal Anemo damage effectively through normal and charged attacks. One notable feature of Mizuki is her Dreamdrifter state, which enhances mobility and periodically inflicts AoE Anemo damage to surrounding foes, while buffing her allies’ Swirl damage.

Mizuki’s Elemental Burst skill attracts enemies and summons a Mini Baku to assist in battle, dropping snacks that provide various effects based on the health of the character who picks them up. These snacks can restore health or deal AoE damage, depending on the situation. Notably, her buffs and healing capabilities scale with her Elemental Mastery.

HoYoverse has also provided insights into the upcoming banners. In the initial phase, Mizuki will appear alongside the much-anticipated rerun of Sigewinne, from February 12 to March 4, followed by additional reruns for Furina and Wriothesley in Phase 2, which runs from March 4 to March 25.

Genshin Impact 5.4 – Story Quests, Events & Other Updates

Players Will Return To Inazuma

Genshin Impact's Amber, Noelle, and Zhongli appear in different locations.

While the main narrative takes a brief intermission, Version 5.4 will introduce several new story quests. Completing these quests allows players to acquire materials necessary for Mizuki’s ascension. Furthermore, HoYoverse announced a significant change: Character Story Quests will no longer require keys to access.

The update’s flagship event will celebrate Inazuma’s Mikawa Flower Festival, presenting a variety of activities, such as A Little Fox’s Daydream, Bunshin Phantasm, and Akitsu Harpastum. Engaging in these mini-games will enable players to earn a unique 4-star polearm event weapon, Tamayuratei no Ohanashi, inspired by traditional folklore.

Additionally, the Traveler’s Tales: Anthology Chapter event encourages players to reconnect with beloved characters scattered throughout the world. New events, including a fishing mini-game titled Invasive Fish Wrangler, film-editing tasks with Xavier in Reel Ad-venture, and the much-anticipated Realm of Tempered Valor battle tower, are also included in this patch.

Players can anticipate various system improvements conveyed in HoYoverse’s Developer Discussions, which involve optimizations for the Training Guide, the introduction of a new weapon filter, and enhancements within the Serenitea Pot. While this update may feature less content than previous iterations, it promises to keep players fully immersed in the Genshin Impact universe, all while they await the new heights set to arrive in Version 6.0.
