Genshin Impact has unveiled its exciting new content in Version 5.4, primarily spotlighting Yumemizuki Mizuki. This update returns to the enchanting region of Inazuma, marking a special occasion with the Mikawa Festival, a vibrant event that celebrates the interactions between yokai and humans. Familiar characters including Yae Miko, Raiden, Mizuki, along with other favorites like Thoma and Yoimiya, are set to take part in this festive gathering.
Yumemizuki Mizuki is positioned as the star attraction of Version 5.4. Unique to this update, she is set to become the first Standard Banner character from Inazuma. Mizuki’s ability kit is described as incredibly flexible, facilitating Swirl damage while concurrently providing healing through collectible snacks. A notable feature of Mizuki is her passive skill, which enhances the effects of food consumed by teammates, with this benefit scaling according to the Friendship level of her allies.
During the recent livestream, the upcoming events for Version 5.4 were discussed, with the Mikawa Festival taking precedence. Similar to previous flagship events, players can look forward to a selection of mini-games, including a revamped version of Akitsu Yuugei. Engaging in these festivities rewards participants with items that can be exchanged for a new 4-Star Polearm. This hints at possible new characters, Varesa or Iansan, who may also be wielders of Polearms in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact: Version 5.4 Special Program Livestream
As for the Event Banners in Version 5.4, players can anticipate the release of Yumemizuki Mizuki and Sigewinne in the first half of the update, followed by Furina and Wriothesley in the latter half. The latter event is particularly intriguing for fans of Wriothesley, as Furina serves as an excellent partner in combat. Notably, the second half will feature one of the game’s most sought-after swords: the Splendor of Tranquil Waters. However, during the livestream, it was revealed that the Inazuma Chronicled Banner will not debut until several updates later, meaning players will have to wait until Version 5.5 for Mizuki’s broader availability in the Standard Banner pool.

The return to Inazuma in Version 5.4 has generated significant enthusiasm among players, even though there are no new map expansions for Natlan or Teyvat in this update. Comparatively, Natlan’s content rollout has appeared more limited than Fontaine’s, where new zones were introduced more rapidly. With Version 4.4 featuring the addition of Fontaine’s fourth zone, many players are left wondering how Natlan will progress in its upcoming cycles. The launch date for Version 5.4 is set for February 12, 2025.
