As stated on their official Facebook page, all players must complete age verification by May 20, 2025. This requirement aligns with new regulations in the country, and failure to comply could lead to account suspension or even deletion.

Two crucial deadlines have been outlined for Genshin Impact players:
- May 20, 2025: Players must begin the age verification process.
- July 18, 2025: This is the final date for submitting your date of birth. Non-compliance by this date may result in severe repercussions including account suspension, deletion of friend lists, purging of chat histories, and turning off mobile notifications.
The announcement did not specify whether accounts could be reinstated if compliance is achieved after the July deadline, leaving many players concerned about their futures in the game.
Irreversible Account Deletion
Furthermore, HoYoVerse has indicated that if players do not meet the age verification requirements by July 20, 2026, their accounts will be permanently deleted, a move the company describes as “irreversible.”The terms and conditions also state that players must meet the minimum age requirement for personal data collection, emphasizing the need for strict adherence to these new rules.
