Overview of Genshin Impact’s 4-Star Character Update
- A recent chart highlights the four-star characters who have missed multiple updates in Genshin Impact.
- At the forefront of this list is Yun Jin, with Freminet, Lynette, Beidou, and others trailing behind.
- Layla stands out as a highly sought-after Cryo character, praised for her strong shielding abilities and damage output.
In the ever-evolving world of Genshin Impact, a newly released chart provides insights into the four-star characters who have yet to make a comeback in version 5.4’s second phase. The game typically features two distinct banner cycles in each update, presenting players with an opportunity to obtain both five-star and four-star units.
Each update includes two five-star characters along with three four-star characters shared across the banners. Unlike five-star characters, which are subject to a 90-wish pity system, four-star characters are significantly more accessible due to a 10-wish pity system. This accessibility makes them attractive choices for players.
The chart, shared by Reddit user RapidFresh, categorizes four-star units based on the number of consecutive banners they have missed. Leading the list is Yun Jin, a Geo character from Liyue, who has been absent for eight updates. As the director of the Yun-Han Opera Troupe, Yun Jin excels as a support character, particularly for those players who maximize DPS through normal attacks.
Genshin Impact 5.4: Most Frequently Missed 4-Star Characters
Following closely behind Yun Jin, we encounter a group of seven characters that includes Freminet, Lynette, Beidou, Faruzan, and Layla. Freminet, known as a diver from Fontaine, is primarily positioned as a main DPS but sees less frequent use among players, which has contributed to his lower popularity.
Lynette, also hailing from Fontaine, takes the third spot on this list. As an Anemo character and a magician’s assistant to her brother Lyney, Lynette is tailored for a sub-DPS role, enhancing team compositions through Elemental Mastery support. Players have expressed concerns that her synergy with her brother could have been better developed.

Beidou, a steadfast figure in Genshin Impact, remains a favorite among players primarily for her ability to absorb and reflect damage with her Elemental Skill. As the captain of The Crux fleet in Liyue, Beidou’s versatility allows her to shine in various team compositions. Meanwhile, Faruzan, another Anemo character, complements teams featuring Wanderer as the main DPS but is not frequently used as much as she might be.
Layla, who has emerged as a premier four-star Cryo character, is particularly valued for her robust shielding capabilities alongside her Cryo damage application, even when she’s not on the field. Numerous comments in the community emphasize her status as a highly requested character, reflecting her popularity and utility.
