The Lasting Impact on His Brother

Luke Riordan in Gen V

Luke Riordan’s return was always seen as unlikely, considering the character took his own life after uncovering the horrific realities surrounding his treatment, alongside his brother Sam (played by Asa Germann), at the clandestine facility known as “the Woods.”Despite his demise, Luke played a significant role throughout the season by appearing as a manifestation guiding Sam towards his better self. This character arc laid a foundation for the possibility of future appearances in upcoming seasons of Gen V.

However, the culmination of season 1 saw Sam reject this guiding representation in favor of revenge against those who wronged them, culminating in a poignant visual of Luke’s disappearance. The events of The Boys season 4 further illustrate Sam and Cate’s (Maddie Phillips) alignment with Homelander (Antony Starr), solidifying their commitment to their vengeful plans. Still, should Sam experience a change of heart, there’s a chance that Schwarzenegger’s character could re-emerge to steer him towards redemption in future seasons of Gen V.
