NVIDIA Expands GeForce NOW Library with Blizzard Titles
This week, NVIDIA announced an exciting update to its GeForce NOW service: several popular games from Blizzard Entertainment have been added to the roster of PC titles available for cloud gaming. Fans can now enjoy all the remastered versions of Warcraft, along with Warcraft Rumble and Heroes of the Storm, through NVIDIA’s cloud platform.
Celebrating 30 Years of Warcraft
As part of the celebrations for the 30th anniversary of the Warcraft franchise, Blizzard released Warcraft I and Warcraft II Remastered on November 14, 2024. These remasters offer players the flexibility to switch between enhanced visual settings and the original graphics. Notably, Warcraft I received significant quality-of-life improvements including increased game speed and a right-click to move option. Both games also benefit from enhancements to their user interfaces, making for a more streamlined gameplay experience.
Warcraft III: Reforged Gets a Major Update
On the same day, Blizzard released a significant update for Warcraft III: Reforged, the latest installment in the beloved real-time strategy series. Originally launched in early 2020, the game faced backlash from fans for not meeting the community’s expectations. Chris Wray, our strategy editor, offered a critical review, noting:
Warcraft III: Reforged isn’t the game that was promised, but is still a valuable reconstruction of one of the most influential titles in the history of video games. This release is, sadly, riddled with bugs as well as marred by the terrible decisions of Blizzard, particularly that of the false advertising that persists now even after launch. However, despite this, there’s little doubting that Warcraft III: Reforged has a compelling story that, even eighteen years on, remains one of the most engaging in the genre. The gameplay holds strong to this day and with the tweaks and upgrades, this is an undeniable diamond in the rough.
Gameplay Enhancements in the 2.0 Update
The recently launched 2.0 update has introduced notable visual improvements, giving players complete control to toggle between the updated graphics and the classic versions. Additionally, this update includes experience points (XP) and leveling for Ranked Play in multiplayer matches. While these improvements enhance the gaming experience, it’s worth noting that most users might not find the need for GeForce NOW with these titles, as they are not demanding in terms of system resources. However, cloud gaming can offer convenience for players looking to enjoy these games on mobile devices.
This Week’s Game Lineup
In addition to Blizzard games, this week’s GeForce NOW lineup includes:
- Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (Xbox, available on PC Game Pass)
- City Transport Simulator: Tram (Steam)
- Dave the Diver (Steam)
- Microtopia (Steam)
- Orcs Must Die: Deathtrap (Xbox, available on PC Game Pass)
- Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator (Steam)
NVIDIA’s New Payment Process
