NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW Update: Enhanced Classics and Exciting Additions

NVIDIA’s latest update for GeForce NOW introduces a spotlight on two beloved PC titles that have recently undergone remastering: The Thing: Remastered and Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered. This update not only enhances gameplay experiences but also brings nostalgia to fans of these iconic games.

The Thing: Remastered

Originally released in 2002, The Thing is an immersive third-person shooter inspired by John Carpenter’s acclaimed 1982 film of the same name. Initially developed by Computer Artworks, the remaster is skillfully executed by Nightdive Studios, known for its remarkable remasters of titles such as System Shock, Turok, and Doom 64. The new enhancements include:

  • Support for anti-aliasing
  • Per-pixel lighting improvements
  • 4K resolution capability
  • Frames per second adjustable up to 144 FPS

For subscribers at the Performance tier, gameplay is accessible at 1440p, while Ultimate tier subscribers can enjoy the game at a stunning 4K resolution and 120 FPS.

Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered

In celebration of the franchise’s 25th anniversary, Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered revisits Raziel’s compelling saga of vengeance. Originally developed by Crystal Dynamics, this title has been refreshed by Aspyr, a studio with experience in remastering older games. Notable enhancements include:

  • Higher fidelity cut-scenes
  • Completely redesigned hero models for Raziel and Kain
  • New configurations for enemies and bosses
  • A striking glow effect for Raziel’s eyes and the Wraith Blade
  • Real-time shadows for all characters and objects
  • A revived Day and Night cycle
  • Introduction of a Photo Mode
  • A brand new map and compass for navigation

In addition to the remasters, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has joined the GeForce NOW lineup, accessible to those who hold a license through platforms like Steam, the Microsoft Store, or PC Game Pass.
