Exciting Developments for Gears of War: Reloaded Multiplayer Beta
The iconic Gears of War franchise is set to make a triumphant return with a remaster of the original game, scheduled for release later this year. In preparation for the launch, The Coalition has initiated a series of multiplayer beta sessions aimed at refining both classic and newly implemented features. Following the conclusion of the first technical test this past weekend, the developer has acknowledged issues faced by players and has promised improvements to enhance the gaming experience.
Challenges During the First Beta Weekend
Players eager to dive into the nostalgic team deathmatch mode—set against beloved maps like Gridlock, Raven Down, and Gold Rush—encountered significant matchmaking challenges. Many participants reported difficulties in finding players for the 4v4 matches, often remaining stuck on the “Finding Opponents”screen. In instances where matches did connect, problematic issues such as severe lag, disconnections, and stuttering plagued the gameplay, leaving many frustrated.
Developer’s Response and Future Improvements
The Coalition responded promptly to the feedback, stating, “We heard you.” They expressed their commitment to enhancing the experience with promises of expanded content, more modes, and additional playtime for future sessions.
Upcoming Beta Session Details
The next multiplayer session is confirmed to run from June 20 to June 22, with an extension of nine additional hours, concluding at 9 PM PDT. Excitingly, the upcoming test will introduce the popular Execution mode to the competitive playlist and add Canals as a new map option. Players can look forward to experiencing Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill, and Execution across the classic maps of Gridlock, Raven Down, and Gold Rush.
Access Restrictions Remain in Place
It’s important to note that access to this beta weekend will remain limited. Players can join by being an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, a PC Game Pass member, owning the digital version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, or having pre-ordered Gears of War: Reloaded.
