G-Dragon from BIGBANG is scheduled to take the stage at the 2024 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), signifying a highly anticipated return after nearly a decade since his last appearance in 2015. This revelation has sparked a wave of excitement amongst fans, who are eager to witness his performance. As a trendsetter in the K-pop industry, G-Dragon is expected to put on an unforgettable show.

The 2024 MAMA will unfold over three days, commencing on November 21, 2024, at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, USA. The second and third events will be held in Japan at the Kyocera Dome Osaka on November 22 and 23, 2024, respectively.

G-Dragon’s performance is slated for the final day, November 23, 2024, where he will share the stage with the K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE and solo artist BIBI. Fans from South Korea and around the globe will have the chance to experience G-Dragon’s performance live via Mnet, the Mnet K-POP YouTube channel, and Mnet TV.

According to News1 on October 8, G-Dragon is reportedly set to release new music on October 25, 2024. However, MK Sports later published details indicating that his management, Galaxy Corp., has refuted this release date.

In their statement, they said,

“We are currently in discussions regarding the comeback date. It is important to note that nothing has been confirmed regarding the solo release on the 25th.”

On October 21, G-Dragon posted a black-themed image with the caption “Beyon-black”and the hashtag #hiddengem on his official fan account, fanplus1dotcom, on social media. Further intrigue was added on October 22, when Vogue Korea and other news outlets highlighted that the image featured a “Loading Progress 10%”indicator, which piqued the public’s interest.

The hint has created substantial buzz, as rumors surrounding his comeback have circulated online for several months.

On October 14, he captured attention once more by registering a new track titled “Power”with ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers). The credits feature collaborations with notable artists like Tommy Brown and Theron “Uptown AP”Thomas, who have both earned Grammy Awards.

Additionally, G-Dragon was seen attending a solo concert by his BIGBANG bandmate Taeyang, named The Light Year, on September 1, 2024, where he performed their hit song “WE LIKE 2 PARTY”together. He is also preparing for his upcoming guest appearance on the variety show You Quiz on the Block.
