Samsung is gearing up for the launch of its latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, which are projected to be unveiled during the Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2025. Enthusiasts and consumers alike are eager to discover the enhancements that Samsung will integrate into these upcoming models. Speculations and leaks have started to surface, revealing intriguing details, particularly concerning the wireless charging features of these innovative foldables.
Insights from Recent Database Listings: Wireless Charging Capabilities of Galaxy Z Fold 7
As the premiere date for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 draws near, a fresh wave of rumors has hit the scene, providing a plethora of information. Recently, a noteworthy database listing surfaced, offering insights into the wireless charging specifications for the Galaxy Z Fold 7. A device identified by the model number SM-D637U has been cataloged in the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) database, as reported by 9to5Google.
Samsung’s conventional approach to model numbering has been somewhat opaque, often masking the identity of forthcoming devices. The introduction of the SM-D637U model may indicate that Samsung is again using such strategies to keep details under wraps before the official announcement. Notably, the SM-D637U is believed to be associated with the SM-F967U for the U. S.market, suggesting a close relationship between these identifiers.
The current listing also hints at the potential inclusion of the Qi12 wireless charging standard, which could greatly enhance the charging capabilities of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Should this materialize, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 would become the first foldable device to achieve Qi12 Ready certification, positioning it alongside high-end flagship models.
It is crucial to understand the distinction between Qi12 Ready and the Qi12 wireless charging standard itself. While both share similar capabilities, the Qi12 Ready necessitates the use of a compatible magnetic case to function, limiting the wireless charging speed to 15W. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to maintain its predecessor’s battery capacity of 4, 400mAh, along with a wired charging speed of 25W, creating a balanced power management profile. Further revelations regarding these models will likely emerge as the launch event approaches.
