Galaxy S24 FE Could Be Getting Closer to Launch as Mass Production of Display Driver Chips Starts
Despite the numerous rumors surrounding Samsung’s upcoming devices, details about the highly anticipated affordable flagship, the Galaxy S24 FE, remain a mystery. Many may assume that Samsung has abandoned the project, but a recent report suggests otherwise.
Samsung Stays Committed to the Galaxy S24 FE, Set to Launch in Summer
The Elec recently released a report stating that Samsung’s supplier has initiated mass production of display driver chips for the Galaxy S24 FE. The report also mentions that the phone is expected to be officially announced this summer, which is just a few months away.
Fan Edition devices from Samsung do not adhere to a standard release cycle like other devices in the market. However, if the Galaxy S24 FE is to be launched in the summer, it would suggest an earlier release date compared to the Galaxy S23 FE, which was released in October 2023 (fall). Based on the timeframe of summer (June to August), it is reasonable to assume that the phone’s official release is not too far away.
Unfortunately, apart from this potential release date, there is limited information currently accessible about the Galaxy S24 FE. However, there have been a few rumors circulating, confirming the existence of the device. One of these rumors suggests that the phone will utilize a combination of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy and Exynos 2400, which is a positive development as the Galaxy S23 FE currently runs on the older Exynos 2200 chipset.
Despite any potential challenges, I am relieved that Samsung remains committed to the Fan Edition line. The upcoming release of the Galaxy S24 FE is highly anticipated, and there are even whispers of foldable devices joining the Fan Edition lineup. This would offer a fantastic combination, providing consumers with a high-quality flagship experience at an affordable price. Given the rising cost of smartphones, this is something that many have been seeking.
