Recently launched, the GALAX HOF OC Lab Plus-X edition targets the updated Chinese RTX 5090 variant known as the RTX 5090 D V2. This new release builds on the foundation laid by previous HOF OC Lab editions for the original GeForce RTX 5090 D, the first RTX model intended for the Chinese market, which faced bans in mainland China due to US export restrictions. The HOF OC Lab Plus-X stands as the premier choice for the RTX 5090 D V2 GPU, boasting a nearly identical PCB layout to its predecessor.

Notably, while the PCB is designed to accommodate two 16-pin power connectors, the unit is shipped with just one. In practical gaming and synthetic benchmarking scenarios, the RTX 5090 D V2 demonstrates performance levels comparable to the original RTX 5090 D model. Given that the VRAM capacity remains adequate at 24GB, users will not notice a performance decline with this new card. The V2 is equipped with the same 21, 760 CUDA cores but features a 384-bit memory bus instead of the previous 512-bit configuration. Remarkably, with some overclocking, the RTX 5090 D V2 HOF OC Lab Plus-X managed to exceed the performance of the RTX 5090 D by a slight margin.

The reviewer successfully increased the memory clock by 1600 MHz and the core clock by 310 MHz without any signs of overstrain.
