GALAX GeForce RTX 5090D HOF OC LAB Now Available on eBay for $5,500

The GPU landscape has recently shifted, with a card that was previously exclusive to China now making waves globally. This shift has positioned the GB202-based graphics unit as one of the priciest on the market, retailing at a staggering price that is double that of its counterpart, the GeForce RTX 5090.

NVIDIA’s RTX 5090D: Priced High on eBay Following China Discontinuation

Recently, NVIDIA halted shipments of the GeForce RTX 5090D in response to new U. S.export regulations. As this model was the sole alternative to the RTX 5090 for consumers in China, the company, alongside its board partners, is rumored to be developing an updated version, the GeForce RTX 5090D V2, set to launch soon in that market.

In the meantime, the original RTX 5090D has found its way to international markets, where it is being auctioned at exorbitant prices. On platforms like eBay, the GALAX GeForce RTX 5090D HOF OC LAB edition is commanding prices between $5, 498 to $5, 999, especially for its XOC edition. This marks it as one of the highest-priced RTX 5090D variants available worldwide. Known for their superior performance and aimed primarily at overclocking aficionados, GALAX’s Hall of Fame cards typically fetch a premium, but the current high demand has further pushed their market price.

The GALAX RTX 5090D HOF OC LAB features dual 16-pin connectors, which significantly increase its power capabilities. Some BIOS configurations have been found to allow the card to draw as much as 2000W, although this level of power consumption does not translate into substantial gaming performance improvements. However, for synthetic benchmarks and competitive overclocking, this capability is indeed advantageous, especially for enthusiasts using advanced techniques like nitrogen cooling to push their hardware limits.

It’s notable that the RTX 5090D is being sold at such inflated prices, considering that the GeForce RTX 5090 has seen price reductions, now frequently listed between $2, 500 and $3, 000, with some instances dipping even below the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) in Europe.
