GALAX Announces Serious Gaming Series for RTX 4000
Yesterday was the NVIDIA conference, which we returned this morning with the announcement of the new RTX 4090, RTX 4080 16 GB and RTX 4080 12 GB graphics cards. GALAX took the opportunity to announce that these three cards will be available in SG version , i.e. “Serious Gaming”.
GeForce RTX 4090 for Serious Gaming:
This version has a power stage consisting of 18 + 4 phases and will be the flagship of the brand. It features the new RGB backlighting that is specific to the series. Boost frequency can reach 2580MHz thanks to the level cooling system equipped with three 102mm WINGS 2.0 fans. These new fans are 20mm thick and increase maximum airflow and pressure by 25% and 15%.

Included is a 102mm ARGB 1-Clip Booster 2.0 fan that can be attached to the back of the PCB. But that’s not all, as GALAX also adds a 1x 16-pin PCIe to 4x 8-pin PCIe adapter, as well as ARGB Dark Obelisk support.
GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB for serious gaming:
The 16GB version of the RTX 4080 also benefits from a cooling system that uses three new 102mm WINGS 2.0 fans. From the side of the power stage, we have 16 + 3 phases here. Aesthetically, the RTX 4080 16GB is very similar to the RTX 4090, even if its heatsink is slightly different as it loses the heatpipe to have 4 out of 8mm and 5 out of 6mm at the end.

In the box, we still find a 102mm ARGB 1-Clip Booster 2.0 fan, as well as ARGB Dark Obelisk support. Note that this model, like the RTX 4090, has a 16-pin PCIe Gen5 power connector.
GeForce RTX 4080 12GB for Serious Gaming:
Finally, let’s finish with the 12GB RTX 4080 version. Minor changes to the fans as we are looking at a solution with two 92mm WINGS 2.0 fans and one 102mm fan. The power stage consists of 11 + 2 phases, and the thickness of the board increases to 3 slots.

The radiator is thinner and has 8 heat pipes of 6 mm. We don’t have pricing information yet, aside from the availability of the RTX 4090 SG version, which should arrive on October 12th.
