Marvel Rivals has emerged as a leading title in the hero shooter genre, significantly due to its rapid introduction of new characters. Following the recent addition of The Fantastic Four, the community buzzes with anticipation for the next potential hero set to join this thrilling lineup. It increasingly appears to be a question of when, rather than if, another character will arrive.
By merging the superhero universe seamlessly into the hero shooter landscape, Marvel Rivals has solidified its status as one of the best adaptations of Marvel Comics to date. The development team has committed to frequently introducing new characters, aiming for at least one exciting update every month. The latest updates revealed The Human Torch joined Mr. Fantastic and The Invisible Woman, completing The Fantastic Four, while The Thing has now taken his place as the most recent Vanguard hero. With nine Vanguard characters now rostered—only one of whom is female—players are left wondering when they can expect another formidable female hero to enter the arena.
Which Female Character Should Be Marvel Rivals’ Next Vanguard Hero?

Captain Carter
Peggy Carter, primarily recognized as Captain America’s love interest, has occasionally donned her own superhero persona, Captain Carter. She gained notable popularity as a key character in the acclaimed animated series What If…?, where she received the Super Soldier serum in place of Steve Rogers. Given Captain America’s existing role as a Vanguard character, it’s plausible that Captain Carter could also fit within this category. If her abilities are based on her What If…? iteration, she could utilize unique powers derived from her experiences as a Guardian of the Multiverse, setting her apart effectively from Captain America.
She-Hulk
She-Hulk has seen a resurgence in popularity, despite mixed reactions to her recent portrayals. As one of Marvel’s most compelling characters, she combines the brute strength of the Hulk with a sharper intellect. Her tactical expertise allows her to strike with precision, contrasting the Hulk’s raw power. Additionally, her infamous ability to break the fourth wall could offer a unique gameplay experience, introducing innovative moves and witty commentary. With her rich comic book history, the introduction of a powerful version of She-Hulk into the roster is increasingly warranted.
Angela
First making her mark in 2013, Angela is a relatively recent addition to the Marvel universe, originally introduced in Image’s Spawn comics. As Thor and Loki’s long-lost sister, she embodies god-like strength and agility, complemented by her tenure with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Even though her mainstream recognition pales in comparison to other Marvel heroes, leaks suggest that Angela may be on her way to the game. Although details about her specific role remain unclear, aim for her to potentially be included as a Vanguard character, given her impressive abilities.
Currently, the Vanguard class features the fewest characters and is frequently overlooked within the game’s meta. Players have expressed a desire for enhancements, particularly regarding their ability to engage airborne adversaries. With a wealth of characters from the X-Men, Inhumans, and Guardians of the Galaxy awaiting adaptation, there is immense potential to expand the Marvel Rivals roster. As the demand for strong female heroes grows, it is anticipated that the diversity within the Vanguard category will expand significantly in the future.
