Upon completing the base game of Monster Hunter Wilds, players can access the exhilarating endgame content, also known as the High Rank areas. Although the geography of the maps remains unchanged, the materials acquired and the monsters encountered now yield higher rarity resources. This improvement significantly enhances your crafting capabilities, allowing for the creation of superior gear.
While many weapon upgrades depend on specific monster materials, there are foundational routes available that enable you to forge powerful weapons using ores found throughout the game world. One essential High Rank ore that you’ll want to collect is Fucium. Below is a detailed guide on how to obtain it.

How to Acquire Fucium in Monster Hunter Wilds

Fucium can only be found in the High Rank area of the Ruins of Wyveria. To gain access, players must first complete the base game and increase their Hunter Rank to 20. Following this, a post-game story mission will guide you back to Wyveria. Once this mission is accomplished, you can explore the area and farm Fucium at various Mining Outcrops located throughout the region.
Mining Outcrops typically offer three to four lootable items, and although Fucium is a rare drop, there is no limit to how many pieces of Fucium Ore can be obtained from these outcrops. Additionally, your Palico can assist in gathering an item from an outcrop; however, be sure to follow them to collect any left behind, as they won’t gather everything.
It’s important to note that once you enter High Rank, the opportunity to find low-rank materials in the wild is restricted. Should you require basic materials in the future, you’ll need to accept Low-Rank quests to secure those resources.
Locations of Mining Outcrops in the Ruins of Wyveria

Unfortunately, the Ruins of Wyveria features a limited number of Mining Outcrops. Below is a comprehensive list of each outcrop location to help you gather the necessary Fucium:

- Area 1: One outcrop is located just south of the Base Camp, and another can be found west of the Base Camp along the northern wall.
- Area 15: There is one outcrop situated in the northern section.
- Area 8: You can find two outcrops along the western wall leading to Area 9.
- Area 5: Three outcrops are available in the southwestern section of this expansive area.
Given Wyveria’s layered geography, navigating can be a challenge. To facilitate your exploration, consider using your Seikret to set waypoints on the map for each outcrop. This feature allows your Seikret to automatically navigate to the designated location, making your material farming more efficient.
