Since its release a few months back, Frostpunk 2 has captivated players in a chilling, post-apocalyptic setting. Developed by 11 bit studios, this survival city-builder achieved remarkable success, surpassing 350,000 copies sold within days and swiftly recuperating its development and marketing expenses.
Future Plans and Content Roadmap
In a recent announcement, the studio unveiled an exciting content roadmap. They expressed gratitude for the community’s constructive feedback, stating, “Your suggestions, ideas, and bug reports have played a crucial role in shaping our future plans.”
Console Launch Scheduled for 2025
Fans eagerly awaiting a console version will be pleased to know that a launch is set for 2025. This expansion will bring the acclaimed city-building experience to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation consoles. The studio acknowledged, “We know it’s something many of you are looking forward to, and we are thrilled to expand New London to console players.” However, a specific launch date is yet to be announced.
Upcoming DLC Packs: Spectrum and Aurora
Additionally, the studio confirmed that DLC packs are in the pipeline, with the first two codenamed Spectrum and Aurora, both scheduled for a 2025 release. Furthermore, an unnamed DLC is planned for 2026, potentially enriching the Frostpunk 2 universe. “Each DLC will introduce entirely new elements to the demanding world of Frostpunk 2,”stated the developers.
Promises of Major Content Updates
The studio has also committed to major content updates, though specific details about the features and enhancements remain under wraps. Interestingly, a date marked as April 24 on the roadmap hints at a potentially significant announcement in the near future.
