Sega recently unveiled new details regarding crossover content for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis during the December 2024 NGS Headline event. Among the highlights was news about the eagerly anticipated collaboration with Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, which has generated considerable buzz among fans.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Event Details

The crossover with Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will launch on January 8, 2025, running for about a month. Players can enjoy the “Frieren the Slayer Style” scratch ticket during this period, which provides access to avatar customization, exclusive voice sets, and weapon skins inspired by the characters Frieren, Fern, and Stark. To acquire these items, players will need to use real currency.

Additionally, daily log-in rewards will include free character acrylic stands, which players can use as Build Parts in their Creative Space, enhancing gameplay and personalization.

Future Collaborations on the Horizon

During the same Headline broadcast, Sega also teased another exciting crossover from A Certain Magical Index III, set to debut in February 2025. This crossover will fill the “Anime based on light novel”category in the official roadmap for early 2025, which Sega released as part of its upcoming content announcements. More information regarding this event will surface on January 28, 2025.

Moreover, the roadmap hints at even more crossover content, with another anime adaptation based on a light novel slated for a time between April and May 2025, an internal Sega title crossover in June 2025, and a collaboration with a sci-fi fantasy toy line in July 2025.

Availability

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is currently accessible globally on multiple platforms, including PC and PlayStation 4. Players in Japan can also enjoy the game on Nintendo Switch through a cloud version, while Xbox One users can access it in other regions.
