Freddy P Comments on Diddy’s Arrest, Claims Disrespectful Behavior and Talks About Fonzworth’s Relationship
Freddy P, a former member of Da Band, sat down for an interview with The Art of Dialogue on September 20, 2024, following Sean “Diddy”Combs’ recent arrest. During the discussion, he made allegations regarding Diddy’s purported “gay”relationship with rapper, actor, and TV presenter Fonzworth Bentley.
“I think Fonzworth was his little boyfriend, girlfriend, at one time. You have to see how they [were] conducting themselves. I don’t wanna say that about Bentley, because Bentley got kids and sh*t and I got respect for that n*gga. He was one of the few n*ggas I f*cked with,” claimed Freddy P.
In another part of the conversation, Freddy P recounted his experiences working with Sean Combs, emphasizing how those around him had been enabling his “bad behavior”and held their “own skeletons”against them. He described the recent federal arrest of the Love Album creator as “long overdue.”
For those unfamiliar, Sean “Diddy”Combs formed Da Band in 2002, with Freddy P as one of its members. The group eventually disbanded in 2004.
Fonzworth Bentley, whose real name is Derek Watkins, is recognized as Diddy’s former personal valet and assistant, gaining fame on the reality TV series Making the Band 2, which chronicled the formation of Da Band.
“Now that we know the monster”— Freddy P’s Recent Comments About Diddy
Earlier this week, Freddy P opened up with The Art of Dialogue about his time under Sean Combs’ mentorship during the Da Band era. He claimed that Fonzworth Bentley was Diddy’s “little boyfriend,” expressing that his perception of Bentley had changed.
“Now that we know the monster, man, you [Fonzworth] carried that man’s umbrella. I watched this man disrespect you every chance he got. He talked to you like his b*tch,” Freddy P stated.
Freddy continued, asserting that Combs was “gay” and that anyone who surrounded him must have proven they were either complicit in his actions or indifferent to them, adding:
“I don’t think you get to stay around him unless you’ve proven that either you are with the sh*t or the sh*t don’t bother you.”
He also alleged that all men hanging around Diddy had engaged in some form of sexual relationship with him and claimed that the hip-hop mogul had an “addiction” to “turning people out.”
The Miami-based MC mentioned that earlier this year, Fonzworth Bentley asserted on social media that he shouldn’t have to share his story. It’s important to note that neither Diddy nor Bentley has confirmed any romantic involvement.
During the interview, Freddy P alleged that he observed Diddy seeking out men, particularly those struggling financially, offering them a “safe haven” due to his wealth and status.
“He’s literally assaulting men. It may be common nowadays, but for a man to walk up and slap your a*s and say ‘Let me get your number’ or ‘Come to my hotel room,’ that sh*t is not normal and I never heard no sh*t like that in my lifetime,” Freddy P alleged regarding Diddy.
He added:
“It’s a lot of rappers out here that have secrets because they fell into these situations with Puffy — and I know this personally.”
Freddy also explained the reasons behind his exit from Da Band and his decision to cut ties with Diddy. He recalled an incident when he woke up feeling “frustrated” only to be confronted by Combs at the studio.
Freddrick Watson recounted that Diddy threatened him publicly, vowing to buy up every home on his block, turning off all the lights, and leaving Freddy in fear every time he attempted to “come out.” Freddy expressed that this intimidation tactic eventually “silenced” him, prompting him to leave the group.
The former MTV cast member shared that Diddy’s recent arrest came as a “shock” but felt it was “long overdue,” pointing to a pattern of evading accountability that raised concerns over law enforcement’s effectiveness. Freddy P suggested that Diddy struggled to relinquish power or to “live his truth,” leading to his legal challenges.
“The more he tried to hide, the worse it got. A lot of stuff Puffy is going through, and I don’t wish bad on him. But it’s sensitive because there are a lot of victims here… I don’t like the man, but I still have love for him. I wouldn’t be here right now if it wasn’t for him. He saw something in me when there were 40,000 other people,” he concluded.
Freddy P teased the possibility of a Netflix documentary about Diddy, hinting that when it releases, it would “shock” audiences. However, it remains unclear if this project correlates with the exposé that 50 Cent has been pursuing.
For context, Sean Combs was arrested in New York City on September 16, facing felony charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He is presently held without bond at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and has pleaded “not guilty.”
