“Freddy P Advises Diddy to Prioritize Family and Avoid Testifying in Trial”
In a recent interview with YouTube’s The Art of Dialogue channel on October 30, Freddy P, a former member of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Da Band, weighed in on the rapper’s troubling situation as he faces legal troubles.
Freddy P expressed his hopes that Combs would avoid taking the stand during his upcoming trial scheduled for May 5, 2025, suggesting instead that he consider a settlement to reunite with his children. Combs is currently serving time following his arrest in September.
During the conversation, Freddy P remarked:
“Your ego is messing things up, let me tell you something real… you could have walked away with $150 million and quieted everyone. You could have silenced me; I wouldn’t be here calling you out. Yet here I am because you [Diddy] treated me wrong, and now I’m not holding back.”
He further accused Diddy of being hindered by his “ego,”which prevents him from admitting defeat. Freddy P urged him not to take the stand during the proceedings and added:
“You’re already viewed as guilty in the public eye, man. Take whatever deal you can get and get back to your kids.”
Despite Freddy P’s advice to avoid the stand, legal analysts believe Diddy may have no choice but to testify at his trial.
Expert Insights: Benjamin Chew on Diddy’s Legal Obligations
Benjamin Chew, an attorney known for representing Johnny Depp in his highly publicized defamation case against Amber Heard, shared insights on Piers Morgan’s Uncensored show. He suggested that the existing evidence against Diddy will likely compel him to testify during trial.
Chew pointed to a troubling tape allegedly showing Diddy assaulting his former partner, singer Cassie Ventura, at the now-defunct InterContinental Hotel in California. He emphasized that Diddy couldn’t sidestep testifying about this evidence, even after issuing a now-deleted apology video. Chew stated:
“That’s going to force him to testify, and I think he’s going to have to do a lot better than he did in that apology video if he hopes to persuade even one or two jurors to be undecided. I don’t like his chances… Video evidence can be very detrimental whether in criminal or civil cases since it’s challenging to refute.”
Chew also mentioned that Diddy would need to project genuine “emotion” on the stand, asserting that opting out could be detrimental to his case. He added:
“When he apologized to Cassie Ventura on Instagram, it didn’t seem sincere. I would like to see genuine emotion in his testimony.”
Moreover, Freddy P touched upon the $50 million bond proposed by Combs’ legal team to keep him out of jail prior to the trial. As part of this arrangement, they suggested surrendering his and his family members’ passports to demonstrate he posed no flight risk.
However, prosecutors countered, insisting that Combs should remain behind bars to ensure his alleged criminal actions do not go unpunished due to any manipulative or obstructive behavior. Combs’ legal team has made three unsuccessful attempts to secure his bail.
Currently, Combs is facing serious allegations including sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and prostitution-related charges.
