A humorous video mocking American’s driving abilities was recently shared by Ayan Broomfield, the girlfriend of Frances Tiafoe.

Despite being seeded 21st and receiving a bye into the second round, Tiafoe had a disappointing performance at the 2024 Miami Open. He was ultimately defeated by Christopher O’Connell with a score of 7-5, 7-6(5).

Broomfield, a retired Canadian tennis player, has been in a relationship with Tiafoe since 2015. The couple frequently offers glimpses into their daily lives on social media. Just recently, on March 29, Broomfield shared a playful clip on her Instagram story, teasing Tiafoe’s driving abilities.

Broomfield is shown sitting on the passenger side in the video, with Tiafoe behind the wheel. In the background, the song ‘Hell To Da Naw Naw Naw’ by Bishop Bullwinkle can be heard playing. This popular internet meme is often used to playfully express disbelief or disapproval.

“POV ur driving with Foe [Frances Tiafoe],”Broomfield captioned the clip.

Tiafoe began the 2024 season with a strong performance at the Hong Kong Open, reaching the quarterfinals before ultimately falling to Shang Juncheng in a close 6-4, 6-4 match. While he faced an early defeat at the Australian Open, he bounced back with a quarterfinal appearance at the Dallas Open and a semifinal appearance at the Delray Beach Open.

At the 2024 U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship in Houston, Frances Tiafoe will either face Australian James Duckworth or a qualifier in a Round-of-16 match.

Tiafoe, who is seeded third, has been granted a pass into the second round of the ATP 250 tournament, the sole clay-court event held at the United States at tour-level. Last year, the 26-year-old clinched the title by defeating Argentina’s Tomas Martin Etcheverry 7-6(1), 7-6(6). In 2022, he advanced to the quarterfinals but was defeated in three sets by fellow American John Isner.

In contrast, Duckworth is set to make his first appearance at the ATP 250 tournament. The current 109th ranked player in the world recently suffered a Round-of-16 defeat in a Challenger event in San Luis Potosi.

Tiafoe and Duckworth have a history of facing each other twice in the past. Their head-to-head record is evenly divided, with each player having triumphed in one match. At the 2015 Open de Nice Cote d’Azur, the Australian emerged victorious with a score of 6-7(5), 7-5, 6-2 in their first encounter. However, the American later sought redemption at the Winston-Salem Open in the same year, defeating Duckworth in a closely contested first round match with a score of 3-6, 7-6(4), 7-6(3).
