Frances Tiafoe gushes over girlfriend Ayan Broomfield’s outfit that she wore to the 2024 Miami Open women’s singles final
Frances Tiafoe was at a loss for words when he saw the dress his girlfriend Ayan Broomfield wore to the 2024 Miami Open final between Danielle Collins and Elena Rybakina.
Tiafoe and Broomfield were first introduced to each other nine years ago, and in 2018, they made their relationship public. Since then, the Canadian has been a constant support for the World No. 22, standing by him through his ups and downs.
The American showed great affection for his 26-year-old girlfriend when he wrote her a heartfelt message in response to one of her Instagram posts in June of last year.
“Man to think how far we’ve come. 2015 – meeting you for the first and also just starting my career. You’ve rocked with me through it all,”Frances Tiafoe wrote on Instagram last year. “The good the bad and the standstills. It’s been a ride no one can put into words. I’m so damn lucky to have you in my life,”he wrote.
On Saturday (March 30), Frances Tiafoe once again displayed his adoration for Ayan Broomfield. He shared pictures of the Canadian’s outfit from the Miami Open women’s singles final, which was won by Danielle Collins in straight sets, on his Instagram stories.
Broomfield donned a colorful floral dress with a neckline that hung gracefully around her neck. Her hair was styled in full, bouncy curls. The 26-year-old completed her alluring ensemble with peach heels and a shiny bracelet. She was accompanied by Paige Lorenze, girlfriend of Tommy Paul, at the Hard Rock Stadium.
Tiafoe, who was previously ranked as the World No. 10, was clearly a fan of her appearance, as seen in his overly enthusiastic caption.
“Outfit 🔥🔥❤️❤️ @ayan.broomfield,”Frances Tiafoe wrote on his Instagram story on Saturday.
Ayan Broomfield Opens Up About Her Decision to Retire from Professional Tennis
Frances Tiafoe’s girlfriend Ayan Broomfield competed on the WTA Tour from 2014 to 2020, with a 35-37 win/loss record in competitive matches and a highest ranking of World No. 680 in April 2015. This information may be new to some.
Despite not winning any singles titles, Broomfield experienced success on the ITF circuit by winning two doubles titles with partners Maria Patrascu and Marie-Alexandre Leduc. Additionally, she contributed to the UCLA Bruins’ victory in the doubles competition at the 2019 NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championships while playing college tennis.
During an Instagram Q&A session earlier this week, the 26-year-old disclosed that she had retired from professional tennis following the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. She cited not only injuries but also burnout and mental struggles as factors that influenced her decision.
“Okay truth be told, I never really officially stopped,”Ayan Broomfield wrote in reply to a question on her Instagram stories. “During/ post covid I was training and playing a lottttt which lead to a lot of injuries, burnout, and stress.”
“And I use the word stress very lightly because obviously there are way worse things going on in the world, then trying to play professional tennis, but I think a lot of the times we see the glitz and glam of the WTA and ATP tour and forget how much work, time and finances go into getting there. It’s brutal and I needed a break from going two cross-one line.”
